OSU Management
Reproduce Phase
The chief aim of
these phases is to bring about reproduction.
The experience and
lessons gained along the way
can benefit others in
new and different applications.
When, where and how
such reproduction takes place
will become evident
as progress is made.
This will become past
of the guiding vision.
Note that all of
these phases can be adapted to
a committee, company,
nonprofit, church, etc.
The details are
different, but the principles are the same.
The Momentum Phase
needs a direction and ultimate purpose.
The people need a
higher purpose than just more and better things.
Otherwise life will
eventually self destruct and/or
greed, tyranny,
mediocrity will infect the corporate culture.
However IF the people
at all levels are enjoying the fruits of a healthy organization, THEN they will
naturally wish for others to enjoy the benefits.
When reproduction is
part of the long-term strategic plan,
then those who commit
their best efforts over the long term,
will not fear that
advancement will become slower and more limited
the higher that they
go.
Many people in
leadership will want an opportunity to run
their own
intrapenurial operation.
Reproduce is the
phase when we set up more and different operations
at other locations.
Diversification
occurs as the leaders apply the universal principles
and general
guidelines to the local situations.
They become and
remain responsive to their local constituents.
We all learn more
about how to share and cooperate on a larger scale.
Some of these will be
fully independent,
while others will be
modeled on how franchises work.
The original entity
will continue to grow and mature.
It will find its own
unique niches,
while also serving as
a ‘parent’ to these various ‘off spring’.
During the
Reproduction Phase everyone’s weaknesses will be addressed and everyone’s
strengths will be developed.
Everyone will
discover and develop their talents.
All of this will be
woven together in mutually beneficial ways.
Continual upward
mobility is possible for everyone
that is trained to
take personal responsibility and work together as a team.
The central
organization grows wide and tall
while avoiding
stagnation by remembering the importance of reproducing.
This is a context for
a large church to reproduce itself
by planting ‘daughter
churches’ locally and globally.
